Monitoring Day One

Cohort Five’s First Day at the Test Plot After the Community Planting Day

Our community joined together for a successful Community Planting Day. With the help of our volunteers, friends, and family, we were able to plant over 300 species of native plants. People of all ages collaborated together, gaining hands on experience planting. To read more about Community Planting Day, check out our post recapping the event.

After the Community Planting Day event, cohort five returned to visit the test plot site to see how our efforts had taken place. We were excited to see how everything was coming along. As we stepped foot onto the site, we could already see signs of growth. Some plants started growing while others were still settling in. Some of us took the time to readjust plants, take pictures, and audio recordings. The visit afterward, made everyone realize how far we've come and the work we put into this plot was insanely successful and something we can all be proud of. The dusty and eyesore of a plot we once knew beforehand had transformed into a lively mini-ecosystem, which blew everyone's expectations out of proportion.
